Pain and Discomfort Meditation
As a human being, it is pretty well assured we will at some point in our lives Hurt. Pain is a part of living in the world of humanity. We can experience pain manifested in this world in one or of three ways; mental, emotional, physical. And the number of combinations we create from these are amazingly almost countless! An Emotional pain (divorce or breakup) can hurt so intensely and deeply that it can be allowed to manifest in the mental field and makes concentrating on anything almost impossible and can easily become clinical depression. If this manifests in the physical field it could be as malaise, depression, diseases from unexplainable colds to heart disease, cancer…and death.
Pain can be interpreted as a warning from the Universe (our Soul, Higher Power, God) that this is a place we ought not tread, but ultimately it is our choice. Right now, it seems most of humanity are choosing to hurt rather than be healed, to feel entitled rather than serve their fellows, and to hate and blame rather than Love. Pain is also the touchstone from which we all daily learn; if we listen to what it is telling us. When we prick our finger on a sharp object we draw back, and save further pain. If we choose not to listen, we will push the sharp object through our entire finger and experience a whole other level of commensurate pain. We’ve all been told Don’t touch the hot stove! and what do we do…
This is not a meditation, however, on how to avoid making mistakes, nor is it a “Cure All” for one’s pains, which WILL disappear almost magically when we learn how to live by reading and properly interpreting Life’s Road Signs. It is a meditation tool that can be one of those “Road Signs” for you on this Journey through Life. Maybe see if it works for you…?
